ABOUT CLINTON MANN

Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, and now based in New Zealand for more than a decade, Clinton Mann is a recording artist, producer, and songwriter with over 30 years of experience in the music industry. His career began in the early 1990s as a guitarist, keyboard player, rapper, and dancer for the South African pop group The Slam Factory. The Slam Factory achieved major commercial success, winning multiple South African music awards and touring internationally alongside artists such as Duran Duran, Dr Alban, and Shaggy. Clinton then went on to form the pop group Sounds of Soul. In 1997, the group signed a record deal with Clive Calder Productions, founded by Clive Calder, the music executive behind Zomba Records and Jive Records. Calder played a key role in the global success of artists such as Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, and Britney Spears. In 1998, Sounds of Soul received a South African Music Award nomination for Best Pop Performance.

As a songwriter and producer, Clinton has worked with artists across South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom, including collaborations with acclaimed producer Pete Boxta Martin, known for his work with Sugababes, Missy Elliott, James Arthur, and The Brand New Heavies. Clinton has also worked with countless South African artists including Dawnay, Lady Litsa, Uncle Cal, O’Ryan Winter, Belinda Davids, Mynie Grove, Judith Sephuma, Richard Ceasar, Maxwell Vidima, D Low, Sounds of Soul, The Rockets, Taliep Petersen, Zayn Adam……Since relocating to New Zealand, Clinton has collaborated with a wide range of local artists, including Thabani Gapara, Neesa Collins, and Aacacia. Clinton Mann has been based in New Zealand for the past 18 years, where he continues to release music, produce artists, and perform internationally.
